About the event

Breaking Stigmas Through Storytelling

Real Stories. Shared Out Loud at Love Cafe

Join us for an intimate evening of storytelling. Shannon Ross spent 17 years incarcerated. Today, he’s the Executive Director of The Community, a Milwaukee-based nonprofit working to transform the way we think about incarceration, reentry, and second chances.

Through his story of resilience, self-education, and advocacy from within prison walls, Shannon challenges the systems that dehumanize and the stigma that lingers long after release.

Come to listen. Come to be moved. Come to be reminded that healing is never linear — and we’re never as alone as we think.

Our elixir bar will be open and a small, nourishing menu will be available while you listen.
